Rock Climbing Pyrenees Lleida Huesca. Climbing is an activity in which participants climb up, down, or across natural rock formations. As you will notice, Spain has an incredible amount of high quality exposed rock. The Spanish Pyrenees host some of the finest rock climbing areas in the world. Specifically, the foothills of the Pyrenees in the province of Lleida (Lérida in Spanish; Lleida in Catalan, the local language). Lleida is home to a number of world class sport climbing crags such as Oliana, Santa Linya, Terredets, and Collegats. Currently, the hardest sport climb in the world is found here.
Once you visit the Pyrenees, you will understand why there's so much excitement about rock climbing here. The sheer volume of rock is staggering. On top of that, just about all of it is immaculate quality! It's simply mind blowing. Most of it is limestone but there is also a lot of granite, especially at higher elevations. To a slightly lesser extent conglomerate and sandstone are also found here. The famous climbing area of Cavallers is granite while Riglos is conglomerate.

Single-pitch Pyrenees
In single-pitch climbing you go up to the anchors (max 30m in height) and then come back down to the ground. It is a great introduction to rock climbing. If you are looking to challenge yourself to your physical limits of difficulty, it's also the best option. For beginners these outings usually last 4 hours and you will primarily climb on top-rope. For intermediate or advanced climbers looking to push their limits there are a plethora of options in the Pyrenees. Normally, these are full day outings spent at a specific crag climbing for as long as you want. At this level we usually do sport climbing. To set up your single-pitch climbing adventure contact us today! If you're interested in single-pitch trad climbing see our climbing courses.
Multi-pitch Pyrenees
Unlike single-pitch climbing where you go up to the anchors and then come back down to the ground, in multi-pitch climbing we go up and keep going up, usually climbing the entire wall (routes are usually between 100-500m in height). In the Pyrenees there is no shortage of big walls for multi-pitch climbing. Come along with us and climb safe and secure with a certified guide. Experience the sensations of summiting a mountain from a different perspective. Depending on the route, these outings are normally full-day affairs. There are climbs of all levels here so if you're interested, contact us and we will choose the appropriate difficulty and duration to maximize your climbing experience. Maximum group size is 2 people.
