Alaska Dog Sledding

Alaska Dog Sledding

Alaska Dog Sledding

Alaska Dog Sledding adventure! Mush your own dogs! This trip introduces you to this authentic and time-tested Alaskan pastime. You learn all the basic techniques to safely mush your own group of dogs and drive your own sled. Along the way you'll appreciate the strength, endurance, and sheer joy of the Alaskan huskies transporting you through the winter wilderness.

During our 4-day mushing trip you'll surely make a connection with all the dogs, especially the ones pulling your sled. You'll be part of the entire mushing process, from A to Z, including harnessing, collaring, feeding, caring, and mushing the dogs. Each day we'll set up camp in arctic hot tents, collect and chop wood, make fire, collect and melt snow for water, prepare food for the dogs, and prepare our meals.

Interior Alaska

Throughout the history of Alaska, people residing in this part of the world have used dog sledding as a principle means of travel. Even today people in isolated areas still use dog sledding to move through the wilderness. You'll start to understand what all this means and learn to appreciate it. Interior Alaska is massive and we'll get to see a small part of it by dog sled.
