Hut to Hut Hiking Patagonia

Hut to Hut Hiking Patagonia is a once in a lifetime experience. Just the name "Patagonia" conjures up fantastical mountains, glaciers, fjords, and forests. Pristine wilderness and the allure of getting away from it all. Being able to hike between serviced huts is icing on the cake.

What is Patagonia?

Patagonia is a massive region encompassing the southern cone of South America. The two countries in this region are Argentina and Chile. From north to south, Patagonia is about the same size as the east coast of the continental United States. You can imagine a trip to Maine is quite different from a trip to Georgia. Similarly, the north of Patagonia is unique and distinct from the south of Patagonia. In the southern hemisphere, the weather is warmer the further north you go. Farther south the temperatures are colder and the weather is less stable.

Logistics

Patagonia is known for it's fickle weather. Violent storms from the Pacific and Antarctic make adventures in southern Patagonia a real challenge. Short weather windows for outdoor adventures can put a real damper on your vacation time. Bigtime Aventura tries to stack the cards in your favor by offering this trip in northern Patagonia, where the weather is more reliable. We can't control the weather but we can try to optimize your hard-earned vacation time by being in the mountains and the wilderness for most of it, instead of being stuck in a hotel for two weeks.

The Trip

Bigtime Aventura offers a 12-day trip to the northern part of Patagonia, Argentina. The hut to hut hiking portion of this active vacation spans nine days. Each night we'll stay in a hotel in town or a hut in the mountains. This is an authentic Patagonian experience with lots of amazing experiences on the trail, in the mountains, in the thick forests, in nature, and especially in the huts with the local people.
