Join Bigtime Aventura for this extraordinary backcountry hiking and camping trip in Nahuel Huapi National Park in San Carlos de Bariloche, Río Negro, Patagonia, Argentina. Hike through some of northern Patagonia's most isolated, undeveloped, and unspoiled areas and marvel at the natural beauty of it's flora, fauna, and geology. This 8-day trip crosses the international border and we spend parts of two days in Chile and Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park. It's in Chile where we will gain the highest point on the trip, 2200m (7220'), as we hike up the flanks of the extinct stratovolcano Monte Tronador to reach the beginning of one of it's massive glaciers. We will also visit an abandoned hut that used to be used as the starting point for summit attempts for the three impressive and rugged glaciated peaks of Monte Tronador.
Adventure Travel in Patagonia Argentina and Chile
This is a trip for the rugged adventure traveler that enjoys getting away from the crowds. The route takes us off the beaten track, away from the typical tourist routes and allows us to enjoy undeveloped and unspoiled wilderness for several consecutive days. We will stay at basic camp sites or bivouacs without services. Be prepared for a minimalist approach. Participants should be familiar with Leave No Trace ethics and tactics.
