Hut to Hut Hiking & Via Ferrata Dolomites. The Dolomites may be the most impressive mountain range in the world. This is not an overstatement. They are absolutely stunning. Lush green valleys give way to enormous sheer rock walls. The change in color, elevation, and natural beauty is simply staggering. This is a place that you have to see with your own eyes to really understand the scale and magnitude of the terrain. There's no better way to experience the Dolomites than by foot. Luckily for the outdoor adventurer, Italy is a country with a rich history of mountain culture. There is an extensive network of fully serviced mountain huts in the Dolomites.

Mountain Huts in the Dolomites

Serviced mountain huts in the Dolomites are common. We will stay at these huts during our hiking trips. They provide food and shelter for us to recharge our batteries and continue our multi-day adventures. Each night we will stay at a different hut and each day we will hike on a different trail. This allows us to see varying terrain, different mountains, and changing views every step of the journey. Around every corner will be a new experience.

Western Dolomites

The Western Dolomites trip, takes place in the regions of Catinaccio, Sassolungo, Sella, and Odle. Like all regions of the Dolomites, this hike takes you past constant impressive mountain scenery. This six day and five night hiking adventure will leave you wanting to experience more of this magical mountain range.

Central Dolomites

The Central Dolomites trip takes place in the regions of Odle, Fanes, and Ampezzo. This five day and four night hiking adventure visits several cultural and historical sites in the Dolomites. This area has the highest concentration of WWI relics, tunnels, and historical war zones. We will visit several of these during the journey and be accompanied by stunning mountain views each day.

Eastern Dolomites

The Eastern Dolomites trip takes place in the regions of Ampezzo, Sesto, and Braies. This region is home to the "Queen of the Dolomites", the town of Cortina d'Ampezzo, and probably the most photographed mountain in the Dolomites, the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. As a side note, this region was the filming location for the Sylvester Stallone movie Cliffhanger.

Via Ferrata Dolomites

Hut to Hut Hiking & Via Ferrata Dolomites. These massive rock walls are poignant. Even if you're not a mountaineer, hiker, or nature enthusiast, you'll marvel at the terrain around you. The best way to really experience the rocky world of the Dolomites is by getting up close to the walls. An incredibly accessible way to do this is by scaling some of the via ferratas that dot the landscape.

Via Ferratas began in the Dolomites during WWI as a way for troops to gain strategic high points in the mountains. They've since morphed into recreational opportunities and adventures for outdoor enthusiasts. Today, there are hundreds of via ferratas in the Dolomites.
