Rock Climbing Costa Blanca
Rock Climbing Costa Blanca is an incredible experience. There is so much rock in this region of Mediterranean Spain. Almost all of it is karst limestone. If you haven't climbed on this type of limestone you should really get your act together and come here to climb. Climbing here is pure joy. In addition to top quality rock, there are innumerable crags. The quantity and quality of rock is simply staggering. All types of climbing are found in this region as well. Predominantly, sport climbing is king here but there is so much rock that you can do any type of climbing.
Multi-pitch Rock Climbing Costa Blanca and Ridge Climbing
In the video in this blog, we did some guided multi-pitch climbing followed by a short section of ridge climbing. The multi-pitch climb was 5 pitches, 180m in length, with a maximum grade of 5+ (5.10a). The ridge was rather straight forward except for a short section of narrow knife-edge ridge. It can be a bit daunting with a 20m drop to the sea side and a 40m drop to the inland side. However, making controlled methodical movement through this complicated section helped relieve the stress and make it more enjoyable.
